Bicycle Wheel Building

The choice for bicycle wheels is endless starting from a straight forward chromed steel rim with galvanised spokes to a rebuild with Sapim Race Spokes and alloy rim.  In between I can offer stainless steel spokes and double butted spokes for weight saving. Truing is carried out on a purpose built Park Tools truing jig. At the Staffordshire Wheel Works I work to the same radial and lateral throw on bicycle wheels as we do on motorcycle wheels. Due  to the vast range of bicycle wheel components available these days and the stock required to support these I tend to stick to rebuilding the more traditional steel wheels. For more specialised wheels I'd recommend contacting a bicycle specialist such as Swinnertons or Brian Roarke's in Stoke on Trent.
